That’s OK (That’s OK)

Curses! I am re-payed for my laziness, both here and on ventures around the country, with Sachin stealing my thunder through his look at Crying Lightning. Surely, there is little left to be said other than I can’t wait for the album. Arctic Monkeys have never been ones to believe the hype about themselves, contenting themselves with just storming out great music, so let us hoped that wealth of creativity that they displayed in their first two masterpieces will still be shining come next month.

So, I’ll instead have to wax lyrical about a certain ex-pat artist again, given that his album is finally upon us. The wonderfully titled Un from Dan Black collects together several of the tracks that we’ve been drip fed over the last year or so, along with some that only those lucky enough to hear him live have heard. The album has some crackers on it, I’m not going to lie, and I can’t wait for next week. Check it out here, you won’t regret it.

We (and that isn’t the “royal we”, I allowed Sachin to trot along for the journey as well) were lucky enough to hear some of Florence and the Machine at Hyde Park last week. The more I hear, the more I seem to like, and I think I will have to get my hands on their LP. For the mean time, enjoy this underrated gem which I noticed was especially enjoyable live.
